Robert “Bob” Spivak has been an insurance and securities executive for over 40 years and was a Principal at CMS Companies since its founding in 1969. CMS, a Philadelphia based insurance and asset management firm invested close to $3.5 billion equity and acquired over $12 billion in assets through investment vehicles originated by CMS. CMS co-founded M Financial ( www.mfin.com), which today is one of the insurance industry leaders with over $120 billion of life insurance in force.
Mr. Spivak has been the President or Chairman of Maccabi USA/Sports for Israel since 1981 and during that period he was also general chairman of the U. S. teams that competed in the 1985, 1989, and 1993 Maccabiah Games in Israel. Under Bob’s vision and guidance, U.S. participation in the Maccabiah Games increased from 350 athletes in 1981 to more than 1100 in 2013. Bob is currently a member of the Philadelphia Sports Congress, the Philadelphia Central High School Board of Governors and the Maccabi World Union Board of Trustees.
Bob has dedicated a great deal of his time and efforts to charitable and not-for-profit organizations and has been a delegate to the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and served on the board of directors of the International Maccabiah Committee (IMC), Security Life of Denver Insurance Board, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), the Jewish Community Center of Philadelphia, the Delaware chapter of the Jewish National Fund, Einstein Medical Center and Boy’s Town Jerusalem.
